Upcoming Symposia in 2026

Research-Focused Spectrum II Series

A deep dive into emerging research, model validation, and clinical insights behind Spectrum II catheters.

Exploring continued advances and translational research shaping infection‑prevention technology.

Next-Generation Solutions for CLABSI
Spotlight on Spectrum II

As the clinical community continues its pursuit of excellence in infection prevention and patient safety, this upcoming. symposium will spotlight the evolution of antimicrobial central venous catheter (CVC) technology.

Introducing Spectrum II, a next-generation catheter engineered to further reduce the incidence of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) in high-risk patient populations.

Building on the foundational design and outcomes of the first-generation antibiotic-impregnated CVC, Spectrum II integrates enhanced antimicrobial and antithrombogenic properties to address persistent challenges in vascular access. The session will explore its updated antimicrobial protection profiles, design refinements, and early clinical performance.

This discussion will also place Spectrum II within the broader context of hospital-acquired condition (HAC) prevention strategies, highlighting its relevance to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) HAC Reduction Program, which penalizes hospitals in the highest quartile of risk-adjusted healthcare-associated infection (HAI) rates and patient safety indicators.

This symposium aims to equip clinicians with actionable insights on how advanced catheter technologies may contribute to improved outcomes, regulatory alignment, and a culture of safety in today’s hospital environments. Click HERE for event flyer

Advances in the Prevention and Management of Central Lines Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI)

Thursday, November 6, 2025 – 7:00 PM Central Time - Houston, TX
Sponsored by Spectrum Vascular

On November 6, 2025, WIME hosted a live virtual symposium bringing together leading infectious disease specialists from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and other institutions to explore one of the most critical challenges in modern healthcare — the prevention and management of Central Line‑Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI).

The session highlighted the latest clinical guidelines, evidence‑based best practices, and innovations in antimicrobial catheter design. Participants engaged in rich discussion around patient safety, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the evolving landscape of infection control across hospitals worldwide. The recording of the symposium is now available for on‑demand viewing.
